Case is a Great Pyrenees. Both my husband and I had had experience with large/Giant breed dogs in the past and had both decided we wanted a Great Pyrenees as our next dog. We had NO idea what we were in store for even with the research we had done on the breed first.
We searched all over for a Great Pyrenees of any age, gender and size to add to our family but we had no luck. We had found a female who was 2 years old and in need of a new home but sadly a family went to meet her before us and they decided to make her part of their family. We were back at square one. The news of a large group of Pyrenees that were rescued came to my attention but sadly due to us not having a 6 ft fenced in yard, we did not qualify to adopt. Very shortly after a friend notified me of an accidental litter of Pyrenees that someone was advertising and I reached out to contact them about getting on the list for a puppy.
October 14th 2013 we were notified that our puppy had been born and we were then able to pick one out from the pictures they sent. We went for the traditional all white puppy, he was the only one. We got the occasional updates on his growth until we were able to go and pick him up on December 13th.
Totally excited to be bringing our new baby boy home we drove the 3 hour stretch in 42 degrees below zero weather to pick him up. Meeting him for the first time was like a dream come true. We had waited a long time for him.
There he was, the biggest, whitest puppy of the group being handed over to us for the first time. He melted into my arms like it was where he belonged and it was love at first sight for all.
