Stella, along with all collies really, is a weird dog and she seems to focus on people in a weird way that causes some to feel uncomfortable so as you can imagine she was destined to be a quirky dog. She just adds a little extra to all she does is all!

My first French lop Mailey passed away today. We made her as comfortable as possible for a while now as she lived out the last of her life with cancer. She was 5 years old. She had been to the vet last year and they said she most likely had cancer as she had a hard mass in her dewlap. It multiplied over the past few months and as it did her health deteriorated. She dropped weight drastically and she kept plugging along. even though she was ready to go back in October, she fought to stay for me. She was a very special rabbit for sure and I believe she stayed until she knew I'd be OK after losing Case.
Goodnight my sweet Mailey. You were my first French lop that brought me so much happiness in a time of sadness after losing Simon. It was an amazing 5 years old girl. You fought the cancer with all your might and I will always remember you and how special you were to me being my very first. Til We meet again over the rainbow bridge I will miss you. In this blog you can see and get to know the Milo & Me rabbits that call Milo & Me their home.
With the recent loss of Case, our Great Pyrenees and Stella’s big brother, Stella has been a little off with the rest of us in mourning. As we all try to find a new normal in life Stella is starting to get her quirks back. In the latest Stella Quirk you will see exactly how special and unique to her quirks are. The last week has been splattered with loss for my new little family. On Wednesday October 22nd I lost a great uncle while on Thursday October 23rd my Husband lost his grandmother. Both were amazing people who really influenced good in the world. Unfortunately Monday October 27th we received word that our One Year Old boy Case had passed away. While we were in Florida we had a good friend stay at the house to take care of the dogs and cat along with the fish. Needless to say, Stella really gave her a run for her money. The first night went smoothly however; everything from then on went downhill quickly.
Today marks the day that Stella has been alive for 7 months. Now I know, 7 months is not a big mile stone for most, but for Stella it is HUGE! One year ago today I got the call that our "little" man Case was born. We had been waiting for that call for what felt like for ever when in reality it had only been around 4 weeks. Whenever someone asks me why I call them the BS litter I will answer them with, "The entire litter was all Black and Steel colored babies, it was also BS that there were no Blues in the litter!" And this name held true! They were the goofiest, friendliest and most attention seeking little boogers I have ever had in my barn. Just plain Clowns!
Mr. Fingers is a name we tend to use referring to our cat Dugan. He is an oddball, but really it shouldn't surprise anyone with the weird ones we always get.
As a young child with my best friend Ally always by my side, we would get into some pretty unusual predicaments. One that happens to be a fond memory is when we were walking in the woods at my parents home in the country picking raspberries, what happens next is something that couldn't even be imagined.
Animals take a special place in our hearts. Each animal who comes into your life will affect you differently, at least in my case they do. On March third of 2012, Max was born. After nearly 2 years of trying to get baby bunnies out of my pair of French Lop Rabbits, they had one single baby alive and well. From the beginning I knew he was special and he showed me over and over again with each outing, each milestone and each accomplishment he achieved. Every person he came in contact with fell in love with him. People didn’t even have to meet him to know how special he was. His pictures and the posts I made about him were enough to show them. He had a special light to him and a personality that was unlike any animals I have ever seen before. He was my Maximilian and was most definitely one in a million. He went everywhere with me and was more like a child than a rabbit… he loved his car rides in his doggie car seat where he could look out the window, going to the store and riding in the cart while I shopped and visiting friends and family for all the attention in the world.
